Copilot integration

Project Journey: Started when Copilot was introduced and the request to integrate it into all Microsoft applications.

The Project: A small team was assigned to work with teams less experienced with Copilot to explore its potential. We aimed to integrate Copilot across all Microsoft products, a significant challenge due to long-term planning and aging code stacks. Some projects required minimal short-term modifications with plans for future rebuilds.

My Role: I was responsible for creating Figma components and visuals, working from sketches and matching them to existing design system components or creating new ones when necessary. I joined a task force to envision and prototype Copilot’s integration into enterprise-level and internal applications. We developed various flow options, presented them to stakeholders, and identified Northstar goals versus short-term wins. I worked closely with a Lead UX designer, her boss, and a motion designer. We collaborated with existing teams, iterating on designs and receiving feedback from different leadership levels.

One major UX/UI challenge was optimizing the sidecar chat, which often lacked space for data visualization and created awkward whitespaces. We are currently researching larger sidecar options and an “immersive full screen” variation to address these issues.

To summarize 18 months of work, I have uploaded video walkthroughs presented to CVP levels to secure buy-in and justify the long-term costs of these projects.

Partner Center

Understanding customer profiles and performance is essential for partners to maximize business opportunities. Tools like Copilot can streamline data processing and improve decision-making efficiency. Partners spend significant time reconciling data from various sources, often amounting to hundreds of hours annually, which is crucial for informed decision-making.

The Copilot tool helps partners like Dia by offering tailored suggestions based on customer information, enhancing meeting preparation and identifying new business opportunities. Key performance indicators (KPIs) and incentive opportunities are vital for assessing customer relationships. By leveraging Copilot, partners can gain insights into performance and potential incentives.

Dia uses co-pilot to understand her earnings and customer eligibility for the fourth coffee program, gaining clarity on earnings and growth opportunities. She can view her earnings based on specific engagements or levers, allowing for a personalized inquiry into her performance. Co-pilot also provides reasons for customer ineligibility, highlighting the importance of data-driven insights in business decision-making.

Additionally, Dia learns about Azure Enterprise and online purchase incentives, offering new avenues to potentially increase her earnings. However, this particular part of Partner Center is on an old code base and currently cannot fully incorporate Copilot abilities. As a result, we used a Word document for the results.
